Congratulations to our U15.1 Redbacks, runners-up in Division One at the Bulleen Boomers Spring Showdown, a domestic basketball tournament.
Making a tournament final means backing up game after game across a weekend, and this group did exactly that. They went all the way to the last game and came home with medals around their necks.
Why tournaments matter
A tournament weekend is different from a Saturday in the EDJBA. There’s less time to recover, more teams you’ve never seen, and every game counts. Playing through to a final teaches juniors to reset quickly after a tough quarter and to lean on their teammates when legs get heavy.
Thank you
Well done to the players, the coach, and every parent who drove, scored and cheered. Results like this are built at weeknight training all season.
