Planning for 2027 is under way for the Venom Championship Men, and the program is calling for expressions of interest from players who want to be part of the next VBL season.
Training starts soon. If you’d like to be considered, register your interest through the link on our Instagram and the program will be in touch with dates and venues.
The top of the pathway
The Championship Men are the senior end of a pathway that starts at Redback Rookies. Juniors who come through the Redbacks and the Venom’s VJBL teams can watch this side at Mullum Mullum Stadium on game nights and see exactly where the road leads.
That’s deliberate. Our Youth League teams are picked from current and former Warrandyte players wherever possible, so local juniors have a real chance to play semi-professional basketball at their own club.
What to expect
Pre-season sessions are a chance for the coaching staff to see you play: your skills, your effort, and how you fit with the group. Come ready to work, and bring a drink bottle.
Register your interest
Use the link in our Instagram bio, or get in touch and we’ll pass your details to the program.
Editor's note. Written from the club's Instagram post of 13 October. Add the expression of interest link, open run dates and a word from the head coach when the program confirms them.
